Another win for ELTRONIS at the FINAT Label Competition
2024 was marked by another win for ELTRONIS – Specialty & Security Printing at the FINAT Label Competition. We have returned as winners after having won the “Best Security Solution” category in 2021.
This time we entered with a more aesthetically pleasing interactive printing solution, that required a little gymnastics of the eyes to be fully appreciated.
Instead of hidden authentication codes, this year we chose hidden images with the help of stereograms.
A stereogram is an optical illusion of depth created by a flat, two-dimensional image. However, when the image is viewed in a particular way, the three-dimensional image reveals itself in an uncanny way.
Our entry, “Seek the Images”, impressed upon the highly experienced panel of judges so much that we were the recipients of this year’s special “Judges Award”.
Viewing the 3D image can be somewhat of a challenge. However, with a little practice it is possible for anyone to perceive the 3D effect of the stereogram. It is considered a great attention grabber, because it is exactly this feature that will make the prospective customer stop and try to decipher the 3D image on the beverage bottle.
For this very reason there were no errors permitted during the printing process. The colors had to be kept in perfect register in order to obtain a flawless reproduction of the stereogram, so that the resulting 3D effect can be properly viewed/observed and enjoyed.
The 2024 edition of awards ceremony for the FINAT Label Competition was held in sunny Athens, Greece. A small ELTRONIS delegation was also present at this year’s award gala to personally collect the award.
The FINAT Label Competition is one of the most prestigious events in the label industry. The number of worldwide entries increases year-by-year, making it even more difficult to land a winning spot.
Preparations are already underway for our next participation at the FINAT Label Competition.
